Description
Raleigh, NC - The W44 is a new women's semi-professional volleyball league.. semi - because it will start off being a local league, regional at most; professional - because the athletes will be paid.
It is a new concept, while building upon an old concept.. that being four on four team volleyball.
Teams will be comprised of four athletes (injury alternates - optional at team discretion), and will be self-coached (coaches - optional at team discretion). The teams will play short tournaments for a prize purse, to be shared among team members. As incentive to develop the league quickly, the first two teams assembled will get to play one match against each other for a full purse!
There will be a one-time registration fee for each player, 100% of which will be applied toward team uniforms.
The W44 is currently seeking players or full teams, sponsors, and promoters!
